Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen excelled at sports and was fascinated by rough and athletic sports. It was this passion that was also matched with an unnatural talent for performing. This was apparent when she was awarded each Feis to show and play which Ireland could offer. When she was 14 she was accepted into the Abbey Theater, where her passion for classical theatre and operatic music was explored. Charles Laughton became captivated with her stunningly beautiful eyes when seeing a screen test. Laughton altered the name of Maureen's FitzSimons to Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" it is a less slender version of her name. The name change happened just before Laughton was able to cast her in Jamaica Inn. Maureen FitzSimons' second film (The Hunchback of Notre Dame 1939) was to be filmed in the studio of RKO Pictures in America under agreement with Laughton. The epic film had a huge success, and Maureen's contract was eventually purchased off Laughton through RKO. Maureen Laughton had been involved in two motion picture productions at the age of 19.
